To the Residents of Locust Lake Village:
Hello again. Here is the latest update on roads. I didn’t put out an eblast last month as the meeting was cancelled due to snow.
Here is what transpired at our meeting on April 9th:
1) Doug Mackenzie, VP of BD from Total Asphalt did a presentation on his company, the materials used to pave and maintain asphalt roads, and their clear material which they recommend for our good asphalt roads. A proposal has been submitted for 8 of our asphalt roads and the area around the office.
2) Andrew Tutrone gave an update on his work on drainage including that 82 home owners will have to have the pipe under driveway added or replaced.
3) Fran Odyniec reviewed the draft letter to be sent to property owners related to keeping the drainage area clear. There were some suggestions and Fran will work on revising it.
4) Three residents had specific issues:
One said potholes are making the his road un–driveable. It was explained that Partridge was one of the roads to be worked on.
A resident on Stag Run said work at a residence on Partridge has caused flooding issues for him and his neighbors.
A third resident on Locust Lane had his own Power Point presentation about his water problems and believes water on Locust Lane is Village’s problem.
To reiterate, we are addressing our drainage issues, however we can not resolve drainage issues that involve private property. If a neighbor does something to their yard that creates a water problem for you, that must be resolved between the two of you.
We have received two proposals for doing road work. We will be reviewing these and will seek at least one other, if possible. Again, we are trying to get the road work started this year.
I will ask again that if anyone has some knowledge about road work and repairs, please contact me. The Roads committee would greatly appreciate anyone who could help advise us and assist in writing RFP’s and evaluating proposals.
Thank You; Stephen Pace, Road Committee Chair
